I suppose as Mondays go it wasn't too bad. I may or may not have fallen asleep on the couch for an hour after I took my daughter to school...
I had a final wrap up appointment with my allergist this morning and that extra hour on the couch put me a little behind. I had a quick breakfast of coconut milk yogurt, berries, bananas and almonds. I raced over the allergist's office where I learned that chemically, I am officially allergic to rubber, lanolin and hydrocortisone. Weird. The hydrocortisone really gets me. I was practically bathing in the stuff to try and get rid of my itchy rash when in reality all I was doing was prolonging my misery!!
After my appointment, I came home and had a lunch of leftover steak and brussel sprouts. I was afraid the sprouts would be mushy but they were just as good today as they were yesterday. I hit the gym after lunch. I didn't work out at all last week since the allergy test patches I had on my back prohibited me from bathing or sweating. This was also the first time in a very long time I went without any of my preworkouts. No Spark and no Argenine. I could definitely feel their absence but I still got a good workout in. I'm hoping in time I'll adjust to not having my "go go juice" to help me push my limits at the gym. I'm trying to be gentle with myself...easier said than done!
For dinner I made tacos for the family and made myself a taco salad with greens, black beans, taco meat, avocado, tomato and salsa. I didn't miss the taco shell at all but I wish I would have been able to have a little cheese. I'm longing for longhorn!
